Working with an Interior Designer can be an exciting experience. You now have someone who has the necessary skills to make your dreams come true. To make sure everything starts off the best way possible, you should prepare essential information for that very first appointment with 7 Sisters Interiors.
Determine Your Goals
What is the purpose of the appointment? Be honest in laying out your motivations for hiring our guidance. Maybe you tried to DIY and ran into problems. Perhaps you want to change your space but don’t know how to do it on your own. Share your DREAMS and GOALS of how you are envisioning your life in the area. We are here to listen and guide.
Review Space
What pieces do you want to remain in the new design? Explain what you want to use the space for and how you want it to feel. Will it be for entertaining guests or for relaxing after a stressful day at work? Does it need to be a child and pet-friendly? Establishing your goals can help set parameters for our design direction, and help prevent any issues later on.
Set Priorities
If you’re designing your entire home or multiple spaces, it’s best to set some rooms as a priority. What project is the priority? What would you like to get done first? Of all the areas you want us to work on, which is the most important to you? Each person is different, so it’s okay if you want the kitchen done before the entryway, or the master bathroom before the living room. By focusing on one space at a time, you can help prevent problems and keep details from being missed.
What’s Your Investment Range
A part of sharing your goals also includes sharing a number you want to invest in the project. Creating a room over a short amount of time can be costly, but establishing a budget can make things all the easier. How much you want to spend and what the maximum amount you’re won’t go over? These are all critical questions that will save everyone’s time.
Be Prepared with Photos
You probably already have an idea of what you want your space to look like before making an appointment. Perhaps you have a Pinterest board full of ideas and inspiration. Maybe you went old school and collected a pile of magazine clippings. Either way, we want to see any photos you have of your dream home. Presenting a visual of what you want can help us to make it happen.
Be Prepared with Questions
Be curious! Do a little research beforehand and ask a lot of questions. Make a list if that helps. Understanding the design process and timeline might clear the confusion about your particular project. What concerns you might have before starting the project, so you don’t run into any issues later on. We care, we listen, we are here to guide you through the decorating or remodeling process.
Don’t Stress
No worries if you are not prepared or don’t have all the necessary info before your appointment. We will email you a design questionnaire that will start our smooth sail to accomplishing home design dreams. You can see also our latest portfolio.
